CAR GUY COUNSELLING

Car Guy Counselling

I’m a diploma-qualified counsellor, with 20+ years in Education.

I work with people who don’t always feel comfortable in traditional therapy spaces.

My approach is grounded, practical and down-to-earth — the same way I work on my cars.

For me, counselling isn't about sitting in a polished room pretending everything’s fine.

It’s about facing what’s real, taking responsibility, rebuilding what’s worn and moving forward with clarity and strength.

Whether we're talking in a shed, walking around a project car, or meeting online, my goal is simple.

To create a space where you feel understood, supported, and ready to do the work that matters.

My Approach

I use car restoration as a metaphor for counselling:

  •   Maintenance before crisis

  •   Alignment before speed

  •   Checking what’s worn, not ignoring it

  •   Rebuilding what still has value

  •   Throwing out what’s cracked beyond repair

  •   Taking responsibility for the things in your hands

  •   Honouring the journey, not just the destination

Why People Work With Me

People work with me because I’m not a psychology textbook.

I’m a real person who has lived through fatherhood, marriage, pressure, heartbreak, and rebuilding.

I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, responsible for too much, and unsure who you can talk to without judgement.

I bring calm, respect and straight talk — the kind that helps you slow down, see clearly and move forward with strength.
